Practical and free workshops on how to grow your business

October is Small Business Month.

A series of workshops to help people start or grow their business will be held in Campbelltown during October – Small Business Month.

The workshops will be both free and practical and organised by Campbelltown City Council in partnership with the NSW Government.

The program includes a wide range of business events on topics covering everything from recruitment, taxation and budgeting, through to social media, communication and performance management.

An expert business panel on Monday, October 22 at Campbelltown Arts Centre, always a popular part of the annual program, will feature five business experts sharing insights relating to their business specialty.

Another highlight of the month is the return to Campbelltown of the NSW Business Connect bus on Thursday, October 11.

The bus will be located in the forecourt of Campbelltown Civic Centre from 9am to 3pm and people can book a face-to-face session with an advisor by phoning 1300 134 359 or visiting industry.nsw.gov.au/business connect.

In addition, the drop-in business advisory service, which runs with the assistance of the South West Business Enterprise Centre, will be held at the Civic Centre from 9am to 11am this Thursday, October 4 and again on October 18.

Campbelltown City Council is one of 118 councils across NSW participating in Small Business Month.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said Small Business Month was an annual celebration of the small business sector and it recognised the important role that small businesses played in the local community and economy.

Cr Brticevic said the how to start a small business workshop on Monday, October 29 would give participants the skills and information they needed to start their new venture on the right foot.

“This workshop will cover many topics, including business registration, legal issues, record keeping, local council requirements and business plans,’’ he said.

The event will be held in the Council Staff Training Centre from 5.30 to 7.30pm.
