Calm before the storm: Not too many locals use Campbelltown Skate Park early on a Saturday morning.

If you want to learn to skate, here’s your chance.

The new year offers a great chance to learn new tricks from skateboarding professionals as part of free skate clinics run by Totem Skate School in conjunction with Campbelltown City Council.

The clinics are a popular way for young people to get active in a safe and friendly environment says the Mayor of Campbelltown, Councillor Paul Lake.

“Council is excited to partner once again with Totem Skate School in delivering a series of skate clinics for our city’s young people, giving them the opportunity to learn from some of the best skaters from across the country,” Cr Lake said.

“Whether you want to hone your skills with pro skaters, or simply have fun and make new friends, the clinics form part of council’s commitment to providing a range of recreational opportunities for young people in our community.”

The next skateboarding clinic will be held at Campbelltown Skate Park, on the corner of Hollylea and Campbelltown Roads, Leumeah, on Saturday, February 21.

All clinics are held from 3.30pm to 5pm, with future venues and dates as follows:

Saturday, March 21, Macquarie Fields Skate Park, located on the corner of Victoria Road and Harold Street, Macquarie Fields.

Saturday, April 18, Campbelltown Skate Park.

Saturday, May 23, Macquarie Fields Skate Park.

Saturday, June 20, Campbelltown Skate Park.
