Captain Pat
Where the bloody hell are you: Captain Pat at a farewell function put on by the mayor, George Brticevic in November 2016.

[dropcap]C[/dropcap]aptain Pat, where the bloody hell are you?

The former C91.3 radio star promised that he would keep touch before leaving in November 2016 to go and live in south east Asia for a while.

But one reader who knew Pat McGeown very well contacted us to say there had been no word from him since he had departed our shores 18 months ago.

At his farewell Captain Pat said that he was hoping his new surroundings may help him get back into the writing, which he had neglected.

So, Captain Pat, if you’re reading this, send us a note so we can assure your old friends, and many, many local fans, that all’s well with you.

[dropcap]R[/dropcap]obbie Farah certainly polarised fans by returning to the club.

And going by the reaction to our little post on Tuesday afternoon on both our Facebook page and Twitter feed, Wests Tigers fans either love him or loathe him.

One fan even called the Voice to say he was ripping up his club membership.

But judging by the thousands of people who saw our posts on Farah on the two social media sites, at least he got local fans interested in the club once again.

The interest in the Tigers in Liverpool and Macarthur has been noticeably lower than last year but Farah’s controversial return gave it one mighty boost.

And while many fans gave his return the thumbs up or down, there was a third group that were just gobsmacked that it actually happened.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he last edition of Macarthur Chatter wondered aloud if the Wests Tigers would ever return to the practice of holding training sessions and media briefings at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in the days before a home game scheduled there.

We’re happy to report a training session was indeed held there last Friday, on the eve of the club’s home game against the Canberra Raiders.

Unfortunately, the team were belted by the Raiders, who scored nearly 50 points, so maybe we will just shut about it next time.

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]till on footy, make sure to check out the Salvos NSW Blues display in their Ingleburn store, opposite the NAB branch.

Looks like a lot of work went into it.

It is brilliant and whoever did it deserves a medal.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] second senior Campbelltown Council director has pulled the pin.

Wayne Rylands, the city delivery director, has resigned from Campbelltown Council.

His resignation was announced by the general manager, Lindy Deitz, in last week’s councillor bulletin.

“Please be advised that the director city delivery, Wayne Rylands has tendered his resignation with council,’’ the GM wrote.

“Wayne’s last day with council will be Friday 13 July.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wayne for his contribution to the council, the executive team and the community as a whole during his time with Council.

“The organisation would like to wish Wayne the very best in his future endeavours.’’

Earlier this year Michael Sewell, the council’s director of city governance, informed the GM he would be retiring later this year and his last day would be October 31.

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e can’t name the councillor who thinks a partnership between Campbelltown arts centre, Western Sydney University and Campbelltown Hospital is such a good idea it should go a lot further.

It seems the arts centre will work in close collaboration with the hospital and Western Sydney University to embed an “arts in health and culture’’ program within the $600 million Campbelltown Hospital redevelopment.

We’re still trying to decide if this councillor was serious or not in saying to us: “Why don’t we just hang all of the gallery’s artwork on the walls of the hospital, close the arts centre and save ratepayers $3 million a year’’.

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ell done to Shane Simpson, owner of Camden’s Security Doors and Screens, who has stepped up to the plate and will spend a night out in the cold as part of the Vinnies Wollongong CEO Sleepout, which is on tonight, June 21.

Hopefully he’s not the only one flying the flag for Macarthur.
