Campbelltown City Council has joined forces with the NSW Department of Industry to run business workshops later this month.

The aim of the 2017 Back to Business Week workshops is to provide small businesses owners with useful tips on growing and developing their business.

Back to Business Week runs from February 26 to March 4, and it celebrates small to medium businesses.

It also promotes the important role these businesses play in local communities.

Three workshops will be held in Campbelltown during the week, with talks by experts in the fields of social media marketing, sales and marketing, and website development.

The Social Media Marketing workshop will run from 5.15pm to 7pm on Monday, February 27, and will cover topics including the range of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram), how social media marketing is different from traditional marketing, best practice and how to measure success, and developing a social media marketing plan.

The Sales and Marketing workshop will run from 5.15pm to 7pm on Wednesday, March 1, and will outline the importance of developing an integrated strategy to achieve the best results for businesses and to ensure sales and marketing objectives align.

The two-hour Develop a Website workshop will run from 5.15pm to 7.30pm on Thursday, March 2, and will guide participants through the website development process, providing recommendations regarding platforms, functionality, resources, and how best to maximise their investment.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the success of Campbelltown’s small businesses was vital to the local community, not only in terms of the goods and services they provided, but for the jobs they created.

“Council is committed to providing opportunities for businesses to grow and succeed, and these workshops – with helpful tips on social media, sales and marketing, and getting the most out of your website – are among the ways we are supporting small businesses,” he said.

Interested participants must register for the free workshops, which will be held at Campbelltown City Council’s staff training centre, 91 Queen Street, Campbelltown.
