Waminda Oval will host the battle of the Eagles this Sunday in the NSWRL Sydney Shield rugby league competition.

Last year’s premiers, East Campbelltown Eagles, will host the Belrose Eagles in round two of the 2015 season.

The game will kick off at 2.30pm.

East Campbelltown will be hoping to atone for their poor start to the season, when they were handed a football lesson by the Windsor Wolves.

The 42-6 scoreline looks harsh on paper, but the Eagles paid the price for starting slowly and making too many mistakes.

After just 15 minutes of the match at Windsor, the home side had raced away to an 18-0 lead after running in three tries.

The Eagles started to claw their way back and were  unlucky on a number of occasions not to score points.

The halftime score was 18-0 to the home side.

In the second half a couple of early mistakes from the Eagles resulted in another converted try to Windsor and the game was almost as good as gone.

Baker converted and the Eagles trailed 24-6, but try as they might they could not reduce the deficit.

With 10 minutes to go Windsor put any chance of a fightback to bed scoring another converted try, before running in another two to blow out the score to 42-6.

Best for the Eagles were Jarryd Eggleton and Guy Thompson.
