Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine’s Day

This Saturday, February 14, is Valentine’s Day, so what better time to look at some of the most romantic things men can do to let the special woman in their lives know how big is their love:

1.       The obvious one, and this is for me and most men, alas, is flowers. It’s the least we can do, the bare minimum if want our relationships to last a bit. If you have remembered Valentine’s Day only the night before or even the morning of February 14, don’t despair, there’s always flowers. Never mind that our loved ones know we’ve had another shocker, it’s better than nothing.

2.       If you do need to rescue a bad situation, it will help if you also take her out to dinner. But make the booking at a special place, a decent restaurant. You know, with waiters and stuff. Down the local pub to take advantage of its Valentine’s Day happy hour won’t cut it.

3.       Then again, if you are handy in the kitchen, cook her a candle-lit, three-course dinner at home. Put on some nice mood music, chuck a bottle of French bubbly in the ice bucket and you will win a lot of brownie points, pal.

4.       For something a little different, get her flowers but also pack a classy picnic hamper and take her to the Australian Botanic Garden at Mt Annan to catch old Bill Shakespeare’s classic romantic play, As You Like It. It’s on this Valentine’s Day and you can find the details in the article published today in the South West Voice.

5.       If you want to go all out, give her the works: the flowers, the French champagne, the dinner, at home or at a restaurant and even Shakespeare. Think about it, boys, where would we be without our women? Happy Valentine’s Day whatever happens to you.
