Two men have been charged after allegedly impersonating police near Camden on Friday night.

Police will allege three men used blue and red flashing lights to pull over a car from Macarthur Road onto River Road, Elderslie just after 10pm.

The men allegedly drove up next to the car, driven by a 34-year-old woman, and spoke with her.

After the men had driven away, the woman reported the incident to police as she believed the men were not officers.

Police allege the car later pulled over up to 10 more vehicles.

Just before midnight, a silver Lexus SUV was stopped in Harrington Street, Elderslie, for a random breath test.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, allegedly returned a positive result and was arrested.

He later returned a breath analysis of 0.067.

The car was searched and police seized a small hand-held light.

The driver and two passengers were taken to Narellan Police Station.

The 19-year-old driver was charged with aggravated impersonation of police officer and is also expected to be issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for low-range PCA.

A 22-year-old male passenger was charged with aggravated impersonation of police officer.

The third man, an 18-year-old man from Queensland, is also expected to be charged with aggravated impersonation of police officer.

They are to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday, September 26.
