Three face charges over brothel kidnapping

copdinkusThree men have been charged over an alleged kidnapping at a brothel in Liverpool and were due to appear in court today.

About 8:30am yesterday, Thursday, October 16, police were called to a business on George Street following reports a number of men were inside the premises and armed with a handgun.

Police spoke to a 45-year-old man who was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

A perimeter was established around the business with further police including officers from the Tactical Operations Unit and negotiators attending the scene.

They were supported by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

About 11:45am, a 40-year-old man walked out of the business where he was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

The operation continued with tactical officers entering the building and arresting a 36-year-old man at 12:40pm. He was also taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was spoken to by investigators.

Two men, aged 25 and 41, and two women, aged 34 and 40, who were in the building during the incident were later freed and spoken to by police. They were shaken but not injured.

A crime scene was established at the business and examined by specialist forensic officers while the building was also searched by police, however, no weapon was located.

Three men, a 36-year-old, a 40-year-old and a 45-year-old, were each charged with aggravated take person with intent to commit serious indictable offence.

All three were refused bail and were scheduled to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.
