Grandparents deserve a little recognition
Grandparents deserve a little recognition, says Camden Council.

Are you a grandparent in the Camden local government area?

Council wants to hear from you, and show appreciation for the important role you play.

To celebrate NSW Grandparents Day, Camden Council is encouraging grandparents to share an image or a short piece of writing, capturing what they cherish most about being a grandparent in the Camden area.

Grandparents play a special role in local families and in the community and deserve to be recognised, says Mayor of Camden, Councillor Lara Symkowiak.

“Our grandparents are active in many facets of society, from family duties to working and volunteering.

“We greatly appreciate their contributions.”

“Council’s Grandparents Day Storytime and Celebration event at Narellan Library will draw attention to these treasured members of our community.

“We’d like grandparents to show us what is best about being a Camden grandparent by sending council a photo or telling us in no more than 25 words.’’

All entries will be exhibited and prizes will be awarded for the best image and written entry.

Winners will be announced at Narellan Library’s special themed Storytime and morning tea event on Wednesday, October 26 from 11am.

To enter, please email your entry to camdenkids@camden.nsw.gov.au or send via post to Grandparents Day Competition, Camden Council PO Box 183, Camden 2570.

Entries close on Friday, October 21.
