Drifting III, the art work by Celeste Wrona that became her second contribution to popular series The Block.

In just four years Celeste Wrona’s art works have featured on The Block twice, Channel 7’s House Rules, major magazine publications, newspapers, blogs, galleries, art shows and retail stores.

The Campbelltown contemporary artist was also recently the recipient of an award for excellence for her series of works, Bougainvillea Dreaming, which formed part of group exhibition, Little Treasures, in Bologna, Italy.

Ms Wrona, who lives with her family in Ruse, has been commissioned to create a three storey artwork within a glass elevator, and also continues to collaborate with leading home builders to display her art in show homes across Sydney.

But despite all the success, Ms Wrona was particularly pleased when the call came that her work Drifting III would be part of the 2018 series of The Block.

Contestants Bianca and Carla installed her art work on the wall of the grand gallery style hallway of their penthouse apartment.

They told the artist, “your artwork looks stunning in our hallway – we wanted a colourful piece, it worked perfectly, you do beautiful work.’’

The artist herself describes Drifting III as “vibrant, strong and punchy – it’s no wonder the girls wanted it in the penthouse.’’

Ms Wrona is now preparing to launch her upcoming solo show, Awaken, at Gauge Gallery, Glebe during November 19-25.

And while she admits this exhibition will mark a new direction as it will incorporate her signature ink paintings combined with mixed media and collage, her basic artistic modus operandi will remain intact.

“I do like to play around with different things and techniques and this is a slight change direction for now,’’ the artist tells the South West Voice.

“I have never pegged myself as a conceptual artist.

“For me it’s always about intuition when creating art,’’ she says.

“I get so much enjoyment from making art and then seeing others enjoy my works – that’s what it’s all about for me.’’
