Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was grabbed by a man in Picton.

About 6pm yesterday (Sunday, November 10), a 15-year-old girl was running along the Picton Botanical Gardens bike track on Regreme Road when a man she had seen seated in the park earlier, grabbed her from behind.

The teenager managed to break free from the man, but suffered minor scratches and bruising on her wrist.

She ran home to alert her parents, who then notified police.

Police from Camden Police Area Command attended the teenager’s home and commenced investigations.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 40 and 45 years old, about two metres tall, with short, black curly hair.

Police say he is believed to have a tattoo on the back of his left hand.

He was last seen wearing dark track pants and a dark hooded jumper.

Anyone with information about this man, or this incident, are urged to call Camden Police Area Command Detectives on 02 4632 4499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In a separate incident, officers from Camden Police Area Command investigating an assault and robbery in Leppington earlier this year have now released an image of a man, pictured below, who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Maori Pacific Islander in appearance, with a thin build and aged in his late teens.

At the time of the offence he was wearing shorts with a grey “Supreme’’ jumper with a black Nike baseball cap.

Anyone who may know the identity of the man depicted in the image should contact detectives at Camden Police Area Command.

Two juveniles have been arrested and charged over the incident, which took place on September 5.

A number of men were attempting to break into vehicles parked along Jamboree Avenue, Leppington around 2pm when a resident of Jamboree Avenue noticed the men and approached.

The men turned on the resident and assaulted him with a metal pole.

He suffered lacerations and severe bruising and was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment.
