Police have seized two firearms during the search of a home in South West Sydney yesterday.

Strike Force Kelmscott was established by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad as an ongoing investigation into the illegal supply and possession of firearms and drugs across the South West Sydney region.

As part of their inquiries, strike force investigators, with the assistance of police attached to South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at a home at Liverpool about 9.30am yesterday (Thursday, January 11).

During the search, police located a sawn off .22 rifle and a 12-gauge sawn off shotgun.

A 52-year-old man was spoken to at the home, but no arrests have been made.

• Camden police are investigating an armed robbery in Gregory Hills yesterday.

About 10.30pm (Thursday, January 11), a man with his face covered entered a fast food restaurant on Lasso Road, Gregory Hills and threatened staff with a knife and metal bar.

He was handed an amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

No staff were injured.

The man was wearing a black balaclava, grey hooded jacket, black track pants, black gloves, and white shoes.

Detectives from Camden Local Area Command are conducting inquiries into the incident.
