Thanks guys: The Dale, Daniel, Brendan and Eric team didn’t win any trophies at the SWSAS golf day but had a hell of a good time.

The 2017 South West Sydney Academy of Sport annual golf day was an enormous success, says chief executive Gerry Knights.

“A fantastic day was had by all who participated in our golf day at Antill Park Country Golf Club last Friday,’’ Mr Knights said.

“The weather was gorgeous and the course was in tip-top shape, with over 70 players participating in the 4 ball Ambrose event.

“Our host for the day, Antill Park Country Golf Club was amazing in their support and we are delighted to say the event raised more than $6,000, to further support the development of our region’s best young golf athletes.

“A great result!’’

Mr Knights said the academy wanted to post a very special thank you to Club Menangle for its naming rights sponsorship of the day.

“We also want to thank again the following sponsors: Antill Park Country Golf Club, Club Menangle, Aceit Sportswear, West Tigers, Metal 4 U, Makibe Australia, NSW Rugby League, Kelly + Partners, All Style Doors and Mowbray Park.

“We are also grateful to everyone who donated auction items and prizes for the raffle,’’ Mr Knights said.

“Congratulations to our NETT winners Club Menangle, Scratch winners Makibe Australia, nearest the pin winner, our very own Academy Golf graduate Ben Clapham (no surprise) and lastly the longest drive champion Greg Rouland, who narrowly ‘out bombed’ the academy young golfer Joshua Battle.

“Once again a huge thank you to all who participated and everyone behind the scenes for making the 2017 SWSAS Golf Day an enjoyable – fun filled success.

“See you all again next year for more fun and friendship.’’
