Just hours after the publication of images of a car suspected of being used in the crime, last night a man was arrested and charged over the execution style murder of a teenager in Glenfield at Easter this year.

About 11pm yesterday (Monday 10 July 2017), a 26-year-old man was arrested by members of the Tactical Operations Unit at an address in Seven Hills.

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with the murder of 15-year-old Brayden Dillon on Friday, April 14.

The man was refused bail and will appear in Blacktown Local Court today.

Brayden Dillon was found in bed with a gunshot wound to his head when police and other emergency services were called to the home on Moresby Avenue, Glenfield just after 6pm.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition, where he later died.

An investigation was launched by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Macquarie Fields Local Area Command under Strike Force Wongala.

Yesterday Strike Force Wongala issued images of a car suspected of being involved in the murder of the teenager and called on the public to come forward with information.

“We believe once we locate this car we will be able to identify those responsible for the murder,” Detective Chief Inspector Mark Henney said during a media briefing yesterday.

“Detectives have reviewed hours of CCTV throughout the Glenfield area tracking numerous vehicles, but this one is the only one which fits the timeframe,” Mr Henney said.

“This car arrives in the area about 15 minutes before the murder and is seen leaving the area less than five minutes after the murder.

“It’s only a matter of time before we find it ourselves, but we’d love someone to help speed the process up.’’

• A 30-year-old woman was arrested at Blacktown on Wednesday, July 12 and subsequently charged with murder. She was due to appear in court on Thursday, July 13.
