A ride share driver has been charged over the alleged indecent assault of a woman during the trip from Ambarvale to Camden on the weekend.

The 23-year-old woman was collected by a Hyundai I20, operating as a ride-share vehicle, from a home at Ambarvale about 5.15am yesterday.

The woman had organised to be taken to a home in Camden.

During the journey it’s alleged the woman was indecently assaulted by the driver.

When she tried to leave the vehicle, it’s further alleged the man grabbed her arm and attempted to stop her.

She managed to flee and run to a nearby home where police were alerted.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

About 12.40pm yesterday, police stopped a car on Queen Street, Campbelltown and arrested a 52-year-old man.

The man, from Ambarvale, was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault with act of indecency.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Picton Local Court on September 25.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old Gwynneville man has been charged with secretly filming women without their consent in locations throughout Campbelltown.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were patrolling at Macarthur Square when they were alerted to a man allegedly acting suspiciously.

Officers spoke with the 20-year-old and seized his phone and laptop.

It will be alleged in court that the phone contained several videos filming women and girls without their consent.

He was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with 36 counts of filming private parts without consent and one count of behaving in an offensive manner in or near a public place or school.

The accused has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on October 15.
