East Campbelltown Eagles Rugby League club is celebrating winning not one, not two but five premierships on the weekend.

Four grand final wins in the junior ranks were followed by the Eagles defeating Minto Cobras in the NSWRL Sydney Combined competition grand final.

The other Eagles 2019 champions were their Under 9 Division 1, U10 Division 1, U11 Division 1 and U15 sides.

Not to be outdone, the club’s seniors, the Sydney Shield team, defeated Penrith Brothers 60-12 to finish third after the final round of the home and away season.

Tries to Eddie Vatuvei, Grant Lahey, Sean Connor, Guy Thompson, and Craig Moustakas and doubles to Aaron Teariki, Leroy Isaako and Vince Ripepi ensured the Eagles will be in good form going into the defence of the title they won last year.

The Eagles will play the first semi final against St Mary’s at St Mary’s Stadium this Saturday, September 7 from 11am.

On the weekend the Eagles reserve grade (pictured celebrating their triumph) lined up for the grand final against Minto Cobras for the second year in a row at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

It was a win to Eagles in 2018 and 2019 was to be no different.

Minto posted first points with a converted try for a 4-0 lead but the Eagles took the lead 6-4 after a try to Ali Lata was converted by Adrian Harrison.

A penalty goal to Minto made it 6-6  but the Eagles scored a converted try to take a 12-6 lead.

Veteran Ravi Prakash put Ali Lata through a gaping hole and on to a 70 metres run to the tryline, which made it 16-6, but with four minutes remaining Minto scored to put a scare through the Eagles camp.

However the Eagles held on to win 16-10 and claim a back to back premiership.
