Night markets
The September 6 Liverpool Night Markets musical line up includes Lolo Lovina and her gypsy caravan stage.

Where can you hear the sounds of Balkan-inspired gypsy fusion music, smooth reggae beats and rousing guitar solos, all in the one place, and for free?

The increasingly popular Liverpool Night Markets, that’s where.

The markets are next on Saturday, September 6 and offer a great musical line up including the unique Lolo Lovina and her gypsy caravan stage, reggae band Revolution Incorporated, guitarist Queeny Lau and more.

In addition to these fantastic performers, the Night Markets has on offer the usual great range of food, market stalls and family friendly activities, including a jumping castle and special story times for the kids.

Highlights this month include:

  • Live music from Lolo Lovina and her Gypsy Caravan Stage, reggae band Revolution Incorporated and guitarist Queeny Lau;
  • Free clay-making workshop run by Clayhouse and CPAC for all ages;
  • Delicious food from community enterprise STARTTs Arabic Kitchen;
  • The Street University will be selling their cool new T-shirt designs;
  • Jumping castle and story time and board games at the Liverpool Library’s pop-up branch.

The Liverpool Night Markets are becoming a unique community event that appeals to the whole family, believes Mayor Ned Mannoun.

“Council is really proud of how the Night Markets are evolving – more than just a market, they are becoming an entertainment and cultural experience enjoyed by all.

“The entertainment line-up for September is one of the best yet, and I encourage everyone to head to Macquarie Street on September 6, be entertained, sample some delicious food from the STARTTs Arabic Kitchen and others, and enjoy our great city at night.”

The markets are held on the first Saturday of every month in Macquarie Street from 4-9pm and are part of Liverpool City Council’s plans to boost the city’s night time economy and make Liverpool a more exciting place to live and work.

This is an alcohol-free event. For more information about Liverpool’s Night Markets please phone 1300 36 2170, visit www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/nightmarkets or to get involved, email nightmarkets@liverpool.nsw.gov.au
