Mazda’s CX-8 Diesel is now officially a member of the “family’’ – nine award winning vehicles.

Sitting between the CX-5 and the CX-9 on the sizing scale, the value-packed seven-seat option is ideal for growing families looking to pair their need for fuel efficiency, space and safety, with their desire for style and quality.

Equipped with the advanced 2.2L SKYACTIV-D twin-turbo diesel engine, the CX-8 Diesel gives a maximum of 140kW of power at 4,500rpm and a huge 450Nm of torque at 2,000rpm.

With a smaller stature than the traditional seven-seat SUV, the CX-8 offers nimble handling and manoeuvrability, without compromising on cabin space or comfort for occupants in all three rows.

Cabin storage is plentiful for all three rows, and luggage storage in the back is a generous 209 litres when all three rows are in use.

With the third row down, storage increases to 742 litres and to an enormous 1,727 litres when the second row is laid flat.

There is also a sub-boot with an additional 33 litres of underfloor storage.

Mazda has applied a comprehensive list of i-ACTIVSENSE safety features as standard to the CX-8, offering drivers and passengers the best technology available, along with a reassuring peace of mind.

Standard features include Blind Spot Monitoring, High Beam Control, Intelligent Speed Assistance, Lane-keep Assist SystemLane Departure WarningMazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go functionRear Cross Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support [Forward/Reverse], Traffic Sign Recognition, reverse camera and rear parking sensors.

The top grade Asaki adds even more safety equipment, including Mazda’s new 360° view monitor, front parking sensors, Adaptive LED Headlamps and advanced keyless entry.

The CX-8 fits seamlessly into Mazda’s existing lineup, with a powerful road presence, with strong horizontal lines characterising the front face.

Piano black garnishes and chrome-plated mouldings enhance this expression, adding a touch of refinement and elegance to the overall form.

The interior design mirrors the quality feel of the exterior, with premium materials used to create a sophisticated and comfortable atmosphere.

A new colour pallet with deep brown tones has been introduced through sumptuous Dark Russet nappa leather on the Asaki, while Sport offers black cloth with the same dark brown hues weaved into the material.

Asaki is also offered with pure white nappa leather and adds real wood trim to the instrument and door panels for added warmth and elegance, befitting of a top spec model.

The CX-8 is on sale at Mazda dealers, including Macarthur Mazda in Mill Road, Campbelltown.
