MP, teacher join forces to fight domestic violence

Domestic violence forum: Chris Hayes.

The Federal Member for Fowler and White Ribbon Day Ambassador, Chris Hayes and Hinchinbrook local teacher, Paula Keyes, have organised an information forum to discuss domestic violence against women and children in our local community.
The confirmed speakers will be as follows:

Superintendent Peter Gillam, Liverpool Police Commander;

Superintendent James Johnson, Green Valley Police Commander;

Clr Wendy Waller and Clr Geoff Shelton, Liverpool City Council;

Representatives from the Bonnie Women’s Refuge;  Domestic violence officers, NSW Police; and

A local victim of domestic violence.

The forum will be held on Monday, November 17, from 6pm until 7:45 pm in the Liverpool City Library, 170 George Street.

Refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome.

ON December 3, the Camden/Wollondilly Domestic Violence Committee will hold a White Ribbon Breakfast.

White Ribbon Day is the largest effort by men across the world, working in partnership with women to end men’s violence against women. Hear from guest speakers about the impact of domestic violence and how people can work together to stop domestic and family violence in our community.

Guests nclude boxer Daniel Geale, MP Jai Rowell, Minister for Mental Health and Assistant Minister for Health, Chris Patterson, State Member for Camden, Lara Symkowiak, Mayor of Camden, Cr Benn Banasik, Wollondilly Shire Council, NSW Police dignitaries. The MC will be Paul Stevens.

The breakfast is being sponsored by Camden Wollondilly Domestic Violence Committee, Camden Council, Wollondilly Shire Council and NSW Police.
