The 2018 Campbelltown Mayor’s charity gala dinner may have a fun theme but it will be raising funds for a very important service.

All proceeds from the black tie event will be donated to a Campbelltown based St Vincent de Paul refuge for women and children escaping domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse and homelessness.

“Funds raised this year will provide support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community,’’ says Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic.

“The facility provides a safe and secure environment to learn independent living skills while empowering the families in their care on their personal journey, supporting multicultural practices and respecting diversity, religion and background.

“Up to 11 families can be housed at the refuge at any one time.

“In addition to providing safe accommodation, they provide meals, information, advice and connection to other community resources such as medical support, education, government assistance and housing.

“Council will soon be sharing a pledge list of common items that the refuge needs to be able to support each family in their care.

The charity gala dinner, which will be on Saturday, August 4 at the Campbelltown Arts Centre from 6pm, will have a circus theme.

Tickets to The Greatest Show include a three course dinner, drinks, entertainment and live music.

Individual tickets are $150 per person or $1,400 per table of 10.

Should you be unable to attend the event, but are looking to support the women and children of the St Vincent de Paul Refuge, donations of money, in-kind support, raffle prizes or gifts are welcome.
