A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash in Prestons today. Just before 9am, officers attached to Green Valley Local Area Command were called to the intersection of Jedda Road and Whyalla Place following reports of a crash.

Police have been told a 29-year-old man was riding a motorcycle east along Jedda Road when he hit the back of a small cement truck, which had stopped to turn into a factory site. Emergency services were called and Ambulance Paramedics attempted to revive the motorcyclist; however, he died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old man, was the sole occupant of the truck and was uninjured. He will be taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. No one else was injured during the incident. Officers attached to Green Valley Local Area Command continue to investigate the crash and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are investigating
after a man’s body was found in a shed containing an apparent hydroponic set-up in Bringelly. When officers attended the property on Jersey Road yesterday, the found the body of a 64-year-old man in a shed at the rear of the property.

They also located equipment associated with the hydroponic cultivation of cannabis, along with a number of harvested cannabis plants. A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of the man’s death; however, early indications suggest he was electrocuted while handling the equipment. Preliminary inquiries also suggest electricity had been illegally bypassed to the shed.

It’s believed the man died two or more days ago. A crime scene is in place at the property, and investigations by Camden Local Area Command are continuing. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
