Man stabbed, robbed in Macquarie Fields

Did you or someone you know happen to be at First Avenue, Macquarie Fields this morning?

If you were and witnessed a man being stabbed by another man, police would like to hear from you.

Police have commenced an investigation after the man was stabbed during a robbery in Macquarie Fields early today.

The 49-year-old victim afterwards walked in to Macquarie Fields Police Station to report the incident.

He was then taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment of the minor wound.

Police say the incident unfolded at around 6am today (Tuesday, December 12), when two men became involved in an argument while walking on First Avenue, Macquarie Fields.

It is alleged that one of the men stabbed the other man in the stomach, before robbing him of cigarettes and fleeing the scene.

It is believed the men are not known to one another.

Macquarie Fields Local Area Command officers have commenced inquiries into the incident.
