Makeover: the outdoor exercise equipment at Campbelltown’s Marsden Park.

Outdoor exercise equipment at the popular Marsden Park in Park Central has undergone a recent makeover, providing access to a complete fitness solution for local residents of all ages and abilities.

The equipment was first installed in 2011, and the recent upgrade features a robust and contemporary design, with instructional signage and the introduction of QR codes on the equipment helping users take a more structured approach to safely improving their health and fitness.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, said the outdoor exercise circuit was a great way for local residents to keep fit for free and close to home.

“Local residents, particularly seniors groups, have welcomed the upgrade to the equipment, as it gives them an opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy some exercise while socialising in a natural environment,” Cr Lake said.

“The equipment features a range of low impact options, as well as cardio vascular workouts, with the circuit including a stationary bike and elliptical trainer and a variety of weight machines utilising all muscle groups.

exercise“Promoting better posture, improved balance and greater flexibility, the latest equipment complements the park’s surrounding recreational opportunities and gives everyone the chance to lead healthier and more active lives,” Cr Lake added.

“With such convenient access to varied and modern outdoor exercise equipment, supported by online instructional videos that are readily available via a mobile device, keeping fit is now so much more than a walk in the park,” he said.
