A 23 year old man will appear in court later today following a stabbing in Macquarie Fields last night which almost severed the victim’s ear.

Police say the incident took place around 6.30pm at the front of a property on Eurabbie Place, Macquarie Fields.

A 30-year-old man received stab wounds to his face and back when he was attacked by another man.

Police say the assailant fled the scene after the attack.

A short time later the injured man drove to a home on Cottonwood Crescent, Macquarie Fields, where emergency services were called.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to several puncture wounds and a partially severed right ear.

He is understood to be in a stable condition.

Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command established crime scenes on both Eurabbie Place and Cottonwood Crescent.

Officers then attended a home on Maple Place, Macquarie Fields, where they arrested a 23-year-old man after a struggle.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with wounding another person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and with resisting arrest.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today, Wednesday, July 11.
