Love will be in the air when Liverpool night markets return

Liverpool night markets return on Saturday, February 7.

Music and romance will fill Macquarie Street when the Liverpool Night Markets return for 2015 on Saturday, February 7.

The special focus on all things love is not just about celebrating Valentine’s Day – in fact, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy, plus market goers will be asked to write a special love note to Liverpool.

“We are really pleased to be able to bring the popular Liverpool Night Markets back in 2015, something I know many in our community have been hoping for,” said Mayor Ned Mannoun.

“I can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year than by spreading a message of love and friendship at the February 7 Night Markets and to take the opportunity to remind ourselves what it is we love about living here, and reaffirming that together as a community.”

Highlights include:

Macaron Giveaway – The first 250 people who complete the Liverpool Night Markets visitor survey at the Market Info Booth will receive a free macaron!

Gifts and shopping – Grab a unique gift that your Valentine will love from CandleBar, Guntawang Arts & Crafts, Chocolates Del Mondo, Mia’s Dream Lights, Sugar Pop Bakery and more;

Mystery Date with a Book – Take home a complimentary book lovingly wrapped from the Liverpool Pop-Up Library;

Liverpool night marketsEntertainment – Enjoy performances by some of Liverpool’s most talented young, up and-coming musicians who will be busking along Macquarie Street; Photo and interview opportunity available with buskers;

Give your pre-loved stuff some TLC – Pick up great recycling tips from the Community Recycling Centre stall and see how you can repurpose old household items;

Street food – Something for all tastes, needs and wants. Featuring the much loved Argentinian BBQ, delicious satay, Greek delights, twist potatoes, waffles, ice-cream and more…

Kids’ activities – Little ones can enjoy the petting zoo, storytime, face painting and love-craft fun!

The markets are held on the first Saturday of every month in Macquarie Street from 4-9pm and are part of Liverpool City Council’s plans to boost the city’s night time economy and make Liverpool a more exciting place to live and work.
