Eagle Vale Library will host an inspiring talk by adventurer Jeremy Scott later this month as part of Campbelltown City Council’s visiting author program series of talks.

Mr Scott will be here on Tuesday, June 26 to discuss his book, The Long Road from a Broken Heart, which he wrote after a life changing journey around the globe.

On October 5, 2011, Scott began the challenge of a life time – a two-and-a-half-year, 51,916km solo bicycle ride from London to New Zealand.

As he pedalled his way around the planet, he covered more than enough distance to circumnavigate the Earth.

His phenomenal journey was made possible thanks to the open heart surgery which saved his life as a child.

His incredible story highlights what anyone can achieve in life, if they are willing to take that first step.

Jeremy is a recipient of the Australian Heart Foundation Heart Hero Award and is an Ambassador for Waterline Challenge.

The library service’s visiting author program gives locals the opportunity to hear first-hand from writers who share their stories and experiences.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the program had been a huge success, attracting talented and highly regarded writers including Peter FitzSimons and Candice Fox.

“The program has included writers of a variety of genres – from true and fictional crime writing, to autobiographies – giving locals the opportunity to not only hear from professional writers but learn about a variety of subjects,” he said.

The free event starts at 6pm on Tuesday, June 26, and bookings are essential by calling 4645 4431.
