Wedding bells rang out for local MP Anoulack Chanthivong on the weekend.

Last Saturday, January 7, Mr Chanthivong and his fiancé Anna Kovalsky tied the knot to start the new year of 2017 as husband and wife.

The wedding took part in the Denham Court Anglican Church before approximately 90 guests, many of whom were Labor colleagues from both state and federal parliaments.

The church ceremony was followed by refreshments in the church grounds and later a larger celebration with family, friends, colleagues and representatives from the Lao community.

Among others, guests included State and Federal parliamentary colleagues, including NSW Labor leader Luke Foley.

Also present were the Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren; Member for Keira Ryan Park; Member for Wollongong Paul Scully; Member for Londonderry Prue Car; Member for Werriwa Anne Stanley; Member for Macarthur Dr Mike Freelander; Member for Fowler Chris Hayes and Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic.

The Lao ambassador, His Excellency Mr Phomma Khammanichanh, and his wife Madame Khamxay Polsena, were also in attendance.

Mr Chanthivong’s family were refugees from Laos who settled in Campbelltown more than 30 years ago.

Mr Chanthivong was elected to state parliament in March of 2015.

He had had also served three terms on Campbelltown City Council and one year as mayor, in 2011-12.

A spokesperson for the happy couple said that Anoulack and Anna had met at work and they had thoroughly enjoyed sharing their wedding day with those closest to them.
