The Youth Solutions Land of Make Believe annual charity event has produced a magical result, raising over $53,000 to support its youth health, wellbeing and drug and alcohol prevention programs across Macarthur and the Wingecarribee Shire.

Clad in fairytale inspired costumes, 450 guests celebrated the local youth service, digging deep for its cause.

Entertained by party band Planet Groove and Leah Cassar Voice Productions, guests rocked the dance floor, celebrated the event’s generous sponsors and took home a lasting message about the importance of supporting, educating and building up our young people.

Youth Solutions chief executive officer Geraldine Dean said the fundraiser showed it takes the entire community to look after young people.

“At Youth Solutions, we are very aware that we are just one cog in the wheel for providing our young people with a positive path,’’ she said.

“It truly takes a community to keep our young people healthy, safe and connected and the support of our local community, businesses and organisations is the key to making a difference.

“We’re so thrilled with the result and we’d like to thank everyone who was involved, including everyone who attended, sponsors and donors.

“Special thanks to our diamond sponsor, Rotary Club of Narellan and our ruby sponsors, AGL and Macarthur Square, as well as all of our amazing quartz sponsors,” Mrs Dean said.

“It’s incredibly humbling to have such fantastic support from our local community – your support truly does make a difference in the lives of our young people.

“Your support helps us to reach more young people with our drug and alcohol education and prevention programs.

“It helps us to support more young people. It helps us to link more young people to the services and help they need.

“It helps us to invest back in our young people and ensure that we, as a community, are doing all we can to build up our young people and prevent them from drug and alcohol related harm.’’
