One Door Harmony House have been operating in Campbelltown for 10 years.
Their aim when they first started was to provide support services and a place for those suffering from mental health conditions where they could develop social relationships.
Someone who supports their view that there should be robust and open discussion about mental health as well as proper support services is the State Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren.
“It is crucial we establish an open dialogue in our society on mental health, and that we work to reduce the stigma and increase the awareness,’’ he says.
Last week Mr Warren visited One Door Harmony House Campbelltown to wish them “happy birthday’’ for their decade of operations in Campbelltown.
Mr Warren said he was honoured to recognize the hard work and dedication of the organization’s staff and speak with its guests, citing the importance of creating an open dialogue on mental health issues.
Mr Warren spoke with staff and guests about mental health in the Campbelltown community and the vital importance of ensuring those with mental health issues received appropriate care and support.
He also presented Harmony House with a certificate recognizing their decade of service, on behalf of himself and the Campbelltown community.
“Happy Birthday and thank you to One Door Harmony House Campbelltown for achieving 10 years of dedicated, passionate service to those suffering mental health conditions in our community,’’ he said.
“I want to thank the wonderful staff at One Door Harmony House for providing tremendous support to those suffering mental health issues in our community.
