Seven young people from Campbelltown are now qualified coaches in their chosen sport.

On Wednesday, October 4, they all graduated from the skate, scooter and BMX “Learn to Ride’’ coaching academy at TAFE NSW Campbelltown College.

As a result all seven graduates have received accreditation from TAFE NSW and the NSW Office of Sport.

They also gained qualifications in first aid, food safety, helmet fitting and safety, business planning and coaching principles.

Campbelltown City Council secured $40,000 in funding from the NSW Government to run the 15-week “Learn to Ride’’ coaching academy course.

As for the rest of us, the local community, we will also benefit from the new skills of seven well trained and enthusiastic young coaches.

Graduating from the course means these seven young people now have the capacity to facilitate learn to ride programs, school holiday clinics and events that showcase the talent that they have fostered in others.

Four of the graduates are in this picture taken on the graduation night.

• Pictured from left are Campbelltown Council’s strategic youth development officer Michele Mullineaux, graduates Madyson Mining, Annalise Hurst, Jamie Bunning and Adam Bolton, Councillor Margaret Chivers and TAFE NSW associate director education Debra Jolley.

Marcus Greavinghoff, Jacob Hornery and Reece Hanneman, the other three Learn to Ride graduates, weren’t available to have their photo taken.
