Koshigaya Park will look more like a northern hemisphere winter wonderland.
For two weeks during the July school holidays, Koshigaya Park will look more like a northern hemisphere winter wonderland.

One of our great parks is about to be transformed – temporarily – into the home of the biggest ice rink in the Sydney metropolitan area.

Popular Koshigaya Park, located in the heart of the Campbelltown central business district, is set to become a stunning winter wonderland during the July school holidays.

Over two weeks, local residents, young and old, will be able to enjoy the magic of a white northern hemisphere winter.

Campbelltown City Council will partner with ice rink and amusement providers Stars On Ice and Joylands to present the Winterland festival from Friday, July 6 to Sunday, July 22.

The festival will include Sydney’s largest outdoor ice skating rink, a genuine toboggan ice slide and amazing winter wonderland themed rides, games and an Alpine food village filled with tasty treats.

There will also be free roaming entertainers, music, a spectacular lighting display and free ice skating shows featuring some of Australia’s leading international ice skating stars.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said winter in Campbelltown’s CBD was going to be something special these school holidays.

“It’ll be a real treat to have an ice skating rink right here in Campbelltown, but there’ll be so much more on offer giving locals and visitors to our city an opportunity to get a taste of the winter experience people who live in the northern hemisphere enjoy every year,” he said.

“I encourage everyone to go along to Winterland and enjoy the rides and entertainment, make the most of the learn to skate classes or simply have fun on the ice – all at one of Campbelltown’s most beautiful parks.”
