They were located, along with a firearm and prohibited drugs, during the search of a unit at Narellan overnight.

Shortly before 10pm last night officers attached to Camden Local Area Command were patrolling the Narellan area, when they attempted to stop a maroon Holden Berlina.

The vehicle failed to stop for police and pulled into a motor inn on The Old Northern Road, a short time later.

After parking the vehicle, both the driver and passenger ran from police.

Officers arrested the 27-year-old male driver as he attempted to enter a unit at the inn.

Police engaged in a foot pursuit with the passenger; however, he was not located.

During a subsequent search of the Berlina, police allegedly located a large amount of drug paraphernalia, which was seized for forensic examination.

Further checks also revealed the man had previously been disqualified from driving.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the unit, where it’s alleged they found a bolt-action rifle, ammunition, a stun gun device, and amounts of ice and heroin.

All items were seized from the unit and will undergo further examination.

Police also located a number of war medals in the unit, which are believed to have been stolen.

Officers have now released an image of the medals and are appealing for anyone with information about their rightful owner to come forward.

The 27-year-old man was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with possessing an authorised firearm, supplying a prohibited drug (indictable quantity) and driving while disqualified.

He was refused bail and scheduled to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today.
