These guys look comfortable navigating the digital world, but are you?

Not sure how to attach a photo to an email?

Facebook privacy is causing you some concern?

Need to know how to add a contact to your mobile phone?

Special Campbelltown City Library Services workshops may be just what you need.

Tech-in-20 provides one-on-one assistance, answering questions and addressing problems in 20 minute sessions, and covering a range of technology types, including tablets, laptops and mobile phones.

The workshops are part of the Library Service IT & Biscuits program – free computer and information technology (IT) sessions, which aim to give residents a basic understanding of computers and how they work, as well as a hands-on guide to emailing, searching the internet, cyber safety and mastering Facebook and Instagram.

The program resumes on February 21, and this year’s sessions also include the “A Buyer’s Guide’’ series with tips on how to go about researching to find the best device for your needs, and what to look out for when purchasing a phone, tablet or laptop.

Participants are encouraged to bring along their own device, but tea, coffee and biscuits are provided at the relaxed and friendly sessions.

Complementing IT & Biscuits, the Tech Savvy Seniors program offers free training in the use of computers, the internet, email and social media specifically for seniors, and sessions will be held in Hindi at HJ Daley Library from May 1.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said information technology was always changing, and council’s IT & Biscuits program provided locals with access to information and advice on how to best keep up with those changes.

“Participants have the opportunity to learn new skills, better understand the use of both apps and their favourite devices – whether it be a phone, tablet or laptop, and to pick up tips on staying safe online,” he said.

“The Tech-in-20 sessions are also a great initiative, inviting participants to bring along their portable advice for one-on-one help with questions, or to resolve problems.”
