Thomas Reddall High School has today officially opened its state of the art hospitality trades skills centre facility.

The centre allows students to work towards qualifications in the high demand area of hospitality up to the Certificate II level during their regular timetabled classes during school hours.

The $1 million facility was delivered through a partnership of the Federal Government and the NSW Department of Education and Communities.

Campbelltown MP Greg Warren, who attended the opening, said that the centre was a great asset for students and staff at Thomas Reddall High School, which is located in Ambarvale.

“The Trades Skills Centre at Thomas Reddall High School is the perfect example of the hands-on, practical learning environments that our kids deserve to be able to learn in,’’ Mr Warren said after the official opening.

“With the Campbelltown and Macarthur region set to experience enormous urban growth in the near future, we need our local schools to be equipped with the facilities they need to give young people the skills for high demand industries like construction and hospitality.

“With the HSC exams fast approaching, this is an important reminder that university isn’t the only option for every student, and to have a facility like this within the school grounds for those students interested in hospitality is simply fantastic,” Mr Warren said.
