Brilliant fireworks are one of the highlights of the New Year’s Eve Party at Koshigaya Park.

Now that Christmas Day is done and dusted it’s time to start planning for New Year’s Eve.

Most of us will have something on at home with friends or family – or both.

But for those who like to be part of a crowd, there are two simple options: Sydney or the bush.

If you don’t mind the travel, there and back, fine, somewhere on Sydney Harbour is for you.

For those who prefer a smaller scale approach to seeing in the New Year, the bush is for you – the bush being right here in Macarthur.

So grab your family and friends and join a community celebration to welcome in the New Year, right here in Campbelltown!

Koshigaya Park is the place to be his Sunday, December 31 from 7pm, when Campbelltown City Council hosts an end of year party that rivals any across the region.

Grab a spot early – more than five hours of non-stop entertainment is set to draw a big crowd.

There’ll be something for everyone on the night – from the colour and fun of ABC Kids favourites, Splash Dance, to the popular covers of After Party Band, and the high energy performance of High Rollers Big Band.

A giant screen on the western side of the park will display all of the on-stage action, and there’ll be a family friendly carnival, food, merchandise stalls and much more – all close to home.

A New Year’s Eve celebration wouldn’t be complete without two spectacular fireworks displays at 9pm and midnight.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said New Year’s Eve celebrations in Campbelltown would be bursting with entertainment and activities for people of all ages, and best of all, two huge fireworks displays.

“Council’s Koshigaya Park celebrations are free and offer a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of Sydney, for locals looking to enjoy a great end of year party, in a safe, family friendly environment,” he said.

The event is drug and alcohol free, and police will be enforcing Alcohol Free Zones – no alcohol of any kind will be permitted in the event area.
