Upgrade on the way: Campbelltown Road, Denham Court.

Early road investigation work is being carried out as part of the planned Campbelltown Road upgrade to widen it between Camden Valley Way at Casula and Brooks Road, Denham Court.

The State Member for Campbelltown, Mr Bryan Doyle, welcomed the latest work.

“This Government has provided $3 million this year to continue the planning for the 5.4 kilometre upgrade of Campbelltown Road which has progressed to the detailed design phase,’’ he said last week.

Detailed site investigations will be carried out in the area from 7am to 6pm between Wednesday, August 27 and until Tuesday, September 30 – weather permitting.

“The work follows design improvements released last month in response to feedback, including reducing the width of the road to four lanes south of Zouch Road to reduce the impact to properties including historic Denham Court House,’’ Mr Doyle said.

Denham Court residents were unhappy about the original widening plans, which they labelled as meaning a highway would be built through their suburb. A banner declaring No Highway for Denham Court (pictured below) has been erected across the road from the service station for more than a year.
