Local filmgoers will step back in time at Fisher’s Flicks at Bradbury Park this Friday.

This year’s Festival of Fisher’s Ghost Street Parade theme ‘bringing back old school’ will also be embraced at the outdoor movie night.

The free, double feature movie night is part of the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost which runs during November 3-12, and will include Casper and cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Cathy Moriarty, Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman star in the 1995 family favourite, Casper.

Having inherited a gloomy looking mansion from her late father, Carrigan (Moriarty), soon realises the home is already occupied by Casper the friendly ghost, and his not so friendly uncles Stretch, Fatso and Stinkie.

A professional afterlife therapist (Pullman) and his daughter (Ricci) are called in to drive out the ghosts!

Casper is rated PG.

The 1975 musical comedy-horror film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, stars Richard O’Brien, Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick.

It follows the story of a young couple who seek help after their car breaks down, from the bizarre Dr Frank N Furter who’s hosting an unusual party at his home.

The film is rated M.

Filmgoers are encouraged to get into the spirit of the festival by dressing as their favourite character from the films.

There will be free face painting available, and prizes given for great costumes.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said whether you were seeing the films for the first time, or were enjoying them again, the outdoor cinema experience would be a lot of fun for the whole family.

“Fisher’s Flicks will be at the heart of the festival celebrations at Bradbury Park, adjacent to the carnival, and I’d encourage everyone to come along, enjoy a movie and pop over to the carnival to enjoy the atmosphere of the biggest community event of the year,” he said.

Refreshments will be available for purchase, but bring your own chairs and picnic blankets to comfortably enjoy the outdoor cinema.

The double feature will start with Casper, from 7.30pm.
