Teenage boy in hospital with head injuries after falling off bonnet

A teenage boy who jumped on the bonnet of a car in the Mr Annan shopping centre is in hospital with serious head injuries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to this incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday.

They say that at around 1.30am (Sunday, June 18), a 17-year-old girl was driving a Suzuki Swift in a car park of the shopping centre in Mt Annan, when the driver began speaking to a group of males in the car park.

One of the males, a 17-year-old, jumped on the bonnet of the vehicle.

The vehicle then drive forward a short distance before braking, causing the teenager to fall to the ground.

The boy, who sustained serious head injuries, was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

Police say that the injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The female driver was also taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and conducted inquiries.
