Year 3 and 4 students from Bardia Public School today joined thousands of students across the country to participate in National Tree Day – Australia’s largest tree-planting and nature care event.

The event was held in Brigade Park in the New Breeze master planned community in Bardia, developed by Dahua Group Australia.

Campbelltown City Council provided the plants, while NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service held an educational talk for the children, supported by Wanda the wombat.

“The student’s green thumbs assistance was a welcome addition to our landscape,’’ said Eric Li, the chief executive officer of Dahua in Australia.

“It was a great morning, thoroughly enjoyed by the students with an abundance of community spirit and support shown for the natural environment,’’ he said.

“In New Breeze we have over 40 hectares of open spaces for recreational activities, with thousands of native trees and shrubs about to be planted throughout the community to create a green neighbourhood.

Ms Feher, a teacher at Bardia Public School said:    “National Tree Day was a wonderful opportunity for the children to be part of a local environmentally sustainable event.

“The students enjoyed getting their hands dirty and contributing to the green landscape.

“They also liked the talk by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services about the importance of tree conservation, native tree species and sustainable living to protect trees and wildlife.

“Wanda the wombat was also very popular.”

National Parks and Wildlife Service’s Cabramatta Creek precinct, which is part of Edmondson Regional Park, is located directly across the road from New Breeze.

This park is one of four precincts that will offer a range of recreational and natural bushland experiences for residents.

Cabramatta Creek’s precinct offers an opportunity to walk and enjoy Cumberland Plain Woodland.

The first park opened in October last year and the remaining precincts will open in the next few years. There will be opportunities for the community to be involved in the development of the visitor precincts with walking tracks, cycleways and picnic facilities planned for the area.

Dahua has also lodged an application with Campbelltown City Council for a major recreational playing area spanning 50,500 sqm hectares in Parkside called Maxwell Creek Oval.

Approval is expected within the next couple of months.

New Breeze will comprise 1,280 new homes with a range of housing types to suit all lifestyles and budgets.

The development will include large high quality parks and playgrounds, a sports oval, bike and cycle paths.

Land lot sizes in Parkside vary from 200 square metres to over 638 square metres with prices starting from $360,000.

All of the lots are easy build and are positioned within walking distance to the new park and corridor.

The sales office is located at 77 Bardia Avenue, Bardia. For further information and to register your interest in New Breeze visit www.newbreeze.com.au or call 1300 832 482.
