Bandidos member faces firearm charges

BandidosPolice have charged a member of the Bandidos over alleged firearm related offences following a vehicle search in Bradbury overnight. About 11.45pm (Saturday, December 20), officers attached to Campbelltown Local Area Command received a report via Triple Zero of an assault at The Parkway in Bradbury. Police arrived to find a man with facial injuries who was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital.

While making further inquiries at the scene, officers searched a Toyota Camry sedan, during which they uncovered a firearm, ammunition, and a large machete. Two men were arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

One of the men, an alleged member of the Bandidos, was charged with possessing aqn unauthorised prohibited firearm and ammunition without holding a licence. The 26-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday).

The other man was released without charge pending further inquiries.

Police are also continuing their investigation into the assault and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers. Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

IN OTHER police news, two males have been charged following a double shooting at Prestons last week. About 10:20pm (Thursday, December 11), police were called to a licensed club on Hoxton Park Road after an injured man entered the foyer of the club.

The now 24-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm and chest.

A short time later, police became aware that a second man, aged 22, attended Liverpool Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Strike Force Lancashire, comprising detectives from Green Valley Local Area Command, was formed to investigate the shootings which allegedly occurred in the car park next to the ice skating rink of the club.

About 2:15pm on Friday, December 19, police stopped a blue Mazda CX9 in a car park on Chisholm Road, Auburn. Two males, aged 17 and 21, were arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station while investigators conducted search warrants at premises in Auburn, Glebe and Kellyville.

During the search warrants police located a loaded .38 Colt revolver and a .22 calibre pump-action rifle, while also seizing ammunition, clothing, mobile phones and other documents. The 17-year-old boy was charged with shoot with intent to murder (x2), knowingly take part in the supply of prohibited drugs, possess unauthorised pistol and possess unauthorised firearm.

The 21-year-old man was also charged with shoot with intent to murder, as well knowingly take part in the supply of prohibited drugs and owner not disclose identity. The boy was refused bail to appear in a children’s court while the man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday. Investigations by Strike Force Lancashire are continuing.

NINE MEN AND A WOMAN have been charged following investigations into the theft of approximately $400,000 worth of hot water systems across Sydney’s south-west and Illawarra region. Strike Force Dirrus, comprising officers attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command’s Anti-Theft Unit, was formed in July 2014 to investigate the theft of approximately 200 gas hot water systems.

It will be alleged investigations led police to a group of men who were stealing the hot water systems from newly built houses across Sydney.

Police will further allege other trades people were knowingly purchasing the stolen hot water systems before selling them on to home owners at a profit. Between Tuesday (December 16)  and Thursday (December 18), investigators arrested nine men and a woman across Sydney taking them to Bankstown and Kogarah Police Stations.

Two men, aged 32 and 33, who police will allege were stealing the hot water systems, were charged with 69 various offences including steal property in dwelling house, aggravated break and enter with intent, dispose of property, goods in custody, deal with proceeds of crime and resist arrest.

Both men were refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court and Sutherland Local Court on February 19.

A 20-year-old man was charged with steal property in a dwelling house and disposing of property while a 28-year-old man was charged with receiving property, attempting to receive property and not keeping firearm safely. Another man, aged 61, was charged with receiving property.

All three were granted conditional bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on January 14.

A 30-year-old woman was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent, steal property in dwelling house and six counts of concealing a serious indictable offence. She was granted conditional bail to appear in Port Kembla Local Court on February 4.

Three men, aged 29, 45, 56 will be issued court attendance notices for the offences of receiving property and recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime. They will appear in Liverpool Local Court on February 4.

A 26-year-old man was charged with stealing property in dwelling house, disposing of stolen property and dealing in the proceeds of crime. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on February 19.

Investigations by Strike Force Dirrus are continuing with further arrests and charges expected.
